Get Unprecedented Protection from AI-Empowered Security

Do you remember when home security consisted of a large sign that read: “Beware of Dog”? Today, with the advent of home automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and impressive video analytics, many homes are protected by systems that rival commercial enterprises.

How times have changed.

Here, we’ll look at the technology that’s impacting home security in ways once unimagined. It’s a system that uses algorithms to analyze patterns, learns, and makes decisions in much the same way we do. It’s Artificial Intelligence, and it’s transforming how we protect the things that matter the most.

Are you ready to discover the role of AI in modern security systems? Prepare to be amazed.

Reactive vs. Proactive

There was a time when home security systems were primarily used as a reactive measure. Should a robbery or intrusion occur, the recorded video enabled homeowners and law enforcement to see the crime after it happened and possibly identify the perpetrators.

With the integration of AI, these security systems have grown smarter. Video surveillance systems learn as they watch over your property and family. They recognize the usual from the unusual, and by analyzing patterns and employing sophisticated algorithms, they analyze live video footage and flag any suspicious or abnormal behavior.

Sending Alerts

While security systems have been able to send alerts via push notifications for about a decade, before the introduction of AI, many people turned off this feature. The problem was that the system responded to every movement, from leaves blowing in the wind to the neighborhood raccoon out for an evening stroll.

Alerts became so pervasive that they were more annoying than beneficial and were deactivated.

Today’s smart security cameras know the difference between animals, people, and vehicles. They know when the movement detected belongs to a person or the wind blowing shrubs around.

By some estimates, the addition of AI has reduced false alarms by up to 90%.

Recognizing Faces

AI-empowered cameras also learn to recognize family members and frequent guests and differentiate them from strangers. You receive an immediate notification when an unknown person is spotted on your property.

If it’s a new delivery driver, you can speak to them through two-way audio, open the garage door remotely, and ask them to drop the packages inside. If it looks like someone with ill intent, you can call law enforcement and alert them they’ve been spotted while you lock all the doors, sound the alarm, and turn on flashing lights by pressing an icon on your smartphone.

One of the best attributes of today’s home security is that you can keep a watchful eye and take action no matter where you are in the world.

Homeowners also use facial recognition as an access system instead of keys or codes. When the system recognizes a person, the door unlocks, the security system is disarmed, and their favorite song streams through in-ceiling speakers.

Smarter Systems with Automation

When connected to home automation platforms and the systems they manage, your home security system becomes even smarter. Lighting, locks, TVs, and audio systems work together, creating an advanced proactive security system that stops trouble before it occurs.
